Watch our video: Foot Valves Explained
To be used with Sure-Flo Self-Cleaning Strainers. They can be used with a single drive or dual drive model.
A conversion tube connects the foot valve to the strainer. The conversion tube easily slides over the strainer neck and is firmly secured with pre-installed stainless bolts. This foot valve matches the bolt pattern of a standard 125 pound cast iron companion flange or a schedule 80 PVC flange. On one end there is a conversion tube and on the other end is ANSI 125 lb Flange.
Note: Every valve will leak if there is no head pressure pushing down and sealing the flapper. Head pressure comes from the vertical down pressure of the volume of water above the valve. The weight of the 4 vertical feet of head pressure will push down and seal the valve. Below is a diagram showing how to measure the four feet of vertical lift from the water surface up to the centerline of the pump.
