Shouldn’t you be in the Bauer Fittings section? Possibly.

But like Bauer Fittings, the purpose of a Camlock Fitting is to join two hoses (or pipes) together. And while Bauer Fittings use a locking lever with hooks to join two pieces together, the Camlock Fitting allows you to easily join the two pieces together without the need for any tools.

Camlocks are extremely versatile, and because there are no threads when connecting the coupling halves together, there are few issues with them becoming damaged or dirty. This means Camlock couplings are very suitable for transferring liquids in dirty conditions like spreading manure in a field.

The Camlock system also allows for the quick change or movement of a hose when required –  important for municipal wastewater, chemical and petroleum  trucks.

Assembly of the system is easy. It consists of a male coupler with two handles and female receiving coupler. (See images on the right.) With both handles extended, place the male coupler into the receiving female coupler. Now close both handles at the same time and you have a leak-proof fitting and it is safe to start transferring liquids.

How do I know what Size Camlock I need?

For metallic applications, if you have a male or female hose tail that is 2 inches, then you need a 2″ Camlock Coupling.

If you are working with polypropylene it is a little more complex. Since there is no international sizing standards, the head sizes can vary. We recommend that you measure the OD (Outside Diameter) of the Adapter Head and/or the ID (Inside Diameter) of the coupler. This measurement will give you the size you need.
