Description

Drip Tape – 5/8″ 8 Mil 12″ Spacing 7500′ Roll .50 Flow Rate is a specific type of drip irrigation tape designed for efficient, precise watering in agricultural and horticultural applications. It delivers water directly to the root zones of plants, conserving water and ensuring uniform distribution.

Key Features:

  1. Size and Material:
    • 5/8″ Diameter: Refers to the inner diameter of the drip tape, suitable for low-pressure systems.
    • 8 Mil Thickness: Indicates the wall thickness of the tape (8 thousandths of an inch), providing moderate durability for short- to medium-term use.
  2. Emitter Spacing:
    • 12″ Spacing: Emitters are placed 12 inches apart along the length of the tape, making it ideal for row crops planted at this spacing.
  3. Roll Length:
    • 7500′ Roll: Provides a long, continuous length of drip tape, reducing the need for multiple connections in large fields.
  4. Flow Rate:
    • 0.50 GPM (Gallons Per Minute): Each emitter delivers 0.50 gallons of water per minute at the recommended operating pressure, ensuring even and consistent watering.
  5. Water Conservation:
    • Designed to minimize water waste by delivering water directly to the plants’ root zones, reducing evaporation and runoff.

Common Applications:

  1. Row Crops:
    • Ideal for irrigating crops such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers planted in rows, especially when plants are spaced 12 inches apart.
  2. Greenhouses and Nurseries:
    • Provides precise watering for plants in controlled environments, ensuring healthy growth.
  3. Horticulture:
    • Used in ornamental and landscaping applications to maintain moisture levels efficiently.
  4. Field Irrigation:
    • Suitable for large-scale agricultural fields requiring consistent, low-pressure watering.

Benefits:

  1. Water Efficiency:
    • Reduces water usage by delivering water only where it’s needed, directly to the root zones.
  2. Uniform Water Distribution:
    • Emitters spaced 12 inches apart ensure even watering across the field.
  3. Cost-Effective:
    • Reduces labor and operational costs compared to traditional overhead irrigation methods.
  4. Reduced Weed Growth:
    • Limits water exposure to areas outside of plant rows, helping to suppress weed growth.
  5. Scalable:
    • Long 7500′ roll allows for large-scale applications without frequent interruptions or connections.

How It Works:

  1. Installation:
    • Lay the drip tape along plant rows with emitters facing up or down, depending on soil type.
    • Connect the tape to the main irrigation line using drip tape fittings.
  2. Watering:
    • Water flows through the tape, and emitters release a controlled amount of water at each spacing.
  3. Maintenance:
    • Periodically inspect for clogs or damage to ensure consistent performance.

Ideal Conditions:

  • Operating Pressure: Typically designed for low-pressure systems (6-15 PSI).
  • Crops: Works best for plants spaced 12 inches apart.

In summary, Drip Tape – 5/8″ 8 Mil 12″ Spacing 7500′ Roll .50 Flow Rate is a high-efficiency irrigation solution ideal for row crops, greenhouses, and large-scale agricultural fields. It ensures water conservation, uniform distribution, and cost-effective crop management.
