Description

The Compression Coupling – PVC White is a pipe fitting used in irrigation systems to join two lengths of PVC pipe securely and without the need for threading or gluing. These couplings are designed for ease of installation and are particularly effective in repair scenarios or temporary setups.

Features:

  1. Material:
    • Made from durable white PVC (polyvinyl chloride), offering high resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and environmental wear.
    • Lightweight and cost-effective.
  2. Compression Mechanism:
    • Utilizes rubber gaskets or O-rings inside the coupling to create a tight, leak-proof seal when the ends are compressed against the pipe.
    • Does not require adhesives, primers, or threading tools.
  3. Versatility:
    • Available in various sizes to fit standard PVC pipe diameters.
    • Suitable for both above-ground and below-ground installations.

Applications:

  • Pipe Repair:
    • Ideal for fixing broken or damaged PVC pipes without cutting large sections or using adhesives.
  • Temporary Connections:
    • Frequently used in seasonal or modular irrigation setups, where pipes may need to be disassembled.
  • Irrigation Systems:
    • Common in agricultural, landscaping, and residential irrigation lines for easy connections or modifications.

Benefits:

  • Ease of Installation:
    • Quick to install without requiring specialized tools or curing time, minimizing downtime.
  • Leak Prevention:
    • Provides a reliable, watertight seal due to the internal compression mechanism.
  • Reusability:
    • Can be removed and reused in other parts of the system, offering flexibility in system design and maintenance.

Considerations:

  • Pipe Compatibility:
    • Ensure the coupling matches the pipe size and type for a proper fit.
  • Pressure Rating:
    • Verify that the coupling’s pressure rating aligns with the irrigation system’s operating pressure to prevent leaks or failures.
  • Maintenance:
    • Periodically inspect the coupling to ensure the gaskets or seals remain in good condition for consistent performance.

The Compression Coupling – PVC White is an essential tool for efficient pipe connections, offering simplicity, durability, and adaptability in a wide range of irrigation applications.

PVC Compression Couplings

Multi-Featured Design • PVC White • Easy-Thread Compression Nut • Converts to Spigot Coupling

Excellent for quick connections, system modifications and repairs. Spears® redesigned Compression Coupling provides improved function, broader application and increased versatility. Standard PVC White units have been a long standing choice for Irrigation and Pool & Spa applications.  Compression nut features strong Buttress threads engineered for easier tightening during installation. New body design has pipe-spigot dimensions allowing unit to be used to convert a socket fitting to a compression fitting. Available in IPS sizes 1-1/2″ through 6″.

• PVC White & PVC Gray Industrial Construction:  Heavy bodied, chemical and corrosion resistant PVC white provides for a broad range of applications.

• Buna-N Compression Gaskets: PVC White unit comes with Buna-N compression gaskets.

• Strong, Buttress Threaded Compression Nuts:  Revised Nut design features increased strength of Buttress thread plus greater ease of Nut installation onto Body. Superior to standard pipe or square-cut ACME type threads.

• Full Service 150 PSI Pressure Rating:  150 psi maximum internal pressure rating @ 73°F.

• Spigot Conversion Capability:  Convert socket-outlet plastic pipe fitting to compression-outlet fitting. Simply cut the Compression Coupling in half next to center holding ribs. Body now functions as a spigot for solvent weld attachment to fitting socket (for Compression Couplings through 2″ only.)
