Foot Valve Vertical OD Tubing

Foot Valve Vertical OD Tubing

Price range: $262.08 through $1,249.43

Vertical OD Tubing Foot Valve is made out of lightweight and durable aluminum.

Ample space is provided for the valve flapper to get out of the water stream, and the full size opening means minimum friction loss.

Especially suitable where the aluminum tubing used for suction is to be in a vertical position.

However, this foot valve will also work where the tubing is at an angle or in the horizontal position.

The hump on the body must face up when it is used in a horizontal or near horizontal position.

Note: Every valve will leak if there is no head pressure pushing down and sealing the flapper.  Head pressure comes from the vertical down pressure of the volume of water above the valve.  The weight of the 4 vertical feet of head pressure will push down and seal the valve. Below is a diagram showing how to measure the four feet of vertical lift from the water surface up to the centerline of the pump.

Description

A Foot Valve Vertical OD Tubing is a specialized valve used in irrigation and fluid transfer systems to maintain pump priming by preventing backflow when the pump is not operating. The vertical orientation allows the valve to be placed at the bottom of the suction line, typically submerged in water. It is commonly used in wells, ponds, and reservoirs to ensure efficient water flow into pumps.

Features:

  1. Vertical Orientation: Designed to be placed vertically at the suction point, ensuring easy water intake and preventing sediment from entering the system.
  2. Prevents Backflow: Keeps water in the system when the pump is off, ensuring that the system remains primed and ready for the next operation.
  3. Durable Construction: Typically made from corrosion-resistant materials like brass, stainless steel, or durable plastics to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
  4. Strainer Functionality: Often includes a built-in strainer to filter out debris and particles, preventing clogging of the pump.
  5. Simple Operation: The valve automatically opens during pumping and closes when the pump is turned off to maintain the water column.

Benefits:

  1. Improved Pump Efficiency: Prevents air from entering the suction line, reducing the time and energy required to prime the pump, thus improving system efficiency.
  2. Protection for Pumps: Helps protect the pump by preventing it from running dry, which can cause damage and reduce the lifespan of the equipment.
  3. Consistent Water Flow: Maintains a steady water supply, ensuring optimal performance of irrigation or fluid transfer systems.
  4. Reduced Maintenance: The strainer component helps minimize debris buildup and reduces the need for frequent cleaning or maintenance.

Use in Farming:

Foot valves are crucial for irrigation systems, as they help maintain water pressure, prevent backflow, and ensure smooth water flow into pumps, reducing downtime and improving water management efficiency on the farm.

This Foot Valve Vertical OD Tubing ensures reliable performance and helps optimize irrigation system operations.
