A Foot Valve 45 Degree OD Tubing is a specialized valve installed at the bottom of a suction line in irrigation or water transfer systems. It is designed to maintain pump priming by preventing water from flowing back out of the line when the pump is not in operation. The 45-degree orientation allows for smoother flow dynamics, reducing resistance and improving efficiency.

Foot Valve 45 Degree Companion Flange

This 45 Degree Companion Flange Foot Valve is made out of lightweight and durable aluminum. This foot valve matches the bolt pattern of a standard 125 pound cast iron companion flange or a schedule 80 PVC flange. Ample space is provided for the valve flapper to get out of the water stream, and the full size opening means minimum friction loss. Note: Every valve will leak if there is no head pressure pushing down and sealing the flapper. Head pressure comes from the vertical down pressure of the volume of water above the valve. The weight of the 4 vertical feet of head pressure will push down and seal the valve. Below is a diagram showing how to measure the four feet of vertical lift from the water surface up to the centerline of the pump.
